Hu Xuemei

Hu Xuemei is the professor and doctoral supervisor of the law school of East China Normal University. Hu has both the doctoral and the post-doctorate degree in civil and commercial law from the Southwest University of Political Science and Law and Xiamen University separately. She also visited Oxford University, Cambridge University, and Cornell University recommended by the Ministry of Education as a visiting scholar. Dr Hu’s honors include being one of the ‘Shuguang’ Scholars of Shanghai, a member of the sixth People’s Congress of Minhang District, Shanghai, and the Legislative Affairs Committee, the director of China Comparative Law Institute, and the director of National Foreign Legal History Institute.

Hu focuses on legal teaching and legal scientific work for more than 30 years with publishing 4 monographs, issuing about 10 academic dissertations in periodicals like ‘Law’, ‘Modern Law’ and so on, compiling more than 10 university textbooks as a director or a member, and presiding over 9 projects of National Social Science Fund, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Justice and many other projects. Her main business area is all kinds of dispute resolution, and the cases which she dealt with are specially reported by several media, which has a positive and widespread social impact.
